Nissan HX2 Engine Belt Tension Setting Tool

This tool is used in Nissan plants throughout the world where the HX2 engine is manufactured. It is used to set the tension in the alternator belt. Tension adjustment is by a jack screw adjuster which is manually wound into position by the operator using an air tool.

The tool is powered by a clip on rechargeable power tool battery which ensures a minimum autonomy of 8 hours. The frequency display is present on 2 faces of the tool. Slack, O.K., Tight, LED indicators also assist the operator.
The tool is located onto the front face of the engine by engaging into the recess of the crank damper pulley. Magnets retain the tool in position. A sensor automatically detects when the tool is correctly located which then activates the tension measurement process.
