Lombardini FOCS

This is a belt tension setting system which is fully integrated into the plant's production monitoring system.

The elements of the system are;

1. The sensor head featuring the optical sensor and electromechanical hammer.
2. An operator control box to stop and start the measuring operation and to record the final set tension value.
3. The CLAVIS control cabinet which processes the signal from the sensor head to determine the belt frequency.
4. A PC which has the planned production loaded into it on a daily basis. As the engine enters the tensioning station the engine barcode is automatically read, identifying the engine type. The correct belt tension for this engine is extracted from a data base and communicated to the CLAVIS control cabinet via a serial data link.
The final set belt tension is returned to the PC at the end of the cycle and stored. All the stored tensions are then uploaded on a daily basis. The system is therefore capable of setting tension in 2, 3 and 4 cylinder engines all with differing belt tension specifications.
